The UA System Board of Trustees oversees the state’s largest higher education enterprise and is comprised of 15 elected members and ex-officio member Gov. Kay Ivey.

The University of լи System will return to in-person instruction, events and activities for the fall 2021 semester. The UA System Health and Safety Task Force made the recommendation to UA System Chancellor Finis St. John and the University of լи System Board of Trustees after assessing statistical data, increased vaccine availability and public health guidelines.

For the fifth consecutive year at the University of լи and the fourth consecutive year at the University of լи at Birmingham and the University of լи in Huntsville, in-state students will not see an increase in base tuition for the 2021 – 2022 academic year. In addition, nonresident tuition will not increase for the third sequential year.

The University of լи System campuses plan to return to traditional in-person instruction without restrictions on classroom capacity for the Fall 2021 semester.

On Feb. 5, 2021, the Board of Trustees of the University of լи System unanimously approved the renaming of the former George C. Wallace Building on the University of լи at Birmingham campus. Effective today, the facility is the Physical Education Building.

Based on the recommendations of the University of լи System Task Force, the Board of Trustees believes that the UA System can best fulfill its core mission of teaching, research, and service by resuming on-campus activities in the Fall 2020 semester.
